Big-Name Players Who Will Change Teams in 2017

Published on 01/25/2017

Calling all football fans, you know one thing is always for sure, every offseason, some big-name players change teams in the NFL, and that’s just how the cookie crumbles. We’ve been looking at the 2016 year and have noticed some huge changes which is why we’re pretty sure the next few months will help shape the 2017 offseason. We know that there will be retirements, trades, veteran players will get released in cost-cutting moves, and especially important, the long awaited 2017 NFL Draft. That’s why we’ve rounded up big-name players that we honestly believe could be changing teams in 2017.

NFL Rumors: Big-Name Players Who Will Change Teams in 2017

Jason Peters, OT, Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles have come a long way in fixing most of their salary cap issues as they are currently projected to be $10.3 million under the salary cap in 2017. While this isn’t bad obviously, it still isn’t enough for them to make the moves they need to fully build a playoff caliber roster around rookie QB Carson Wentz. Therefore they will need to let go of several notable players next offseason. One likely candidate is Peters, a six-time All-Pro and likely Hall of Famer but with his cap hit for 2017 scheduled to be $11.2 million, releasing him will only cost the Eagles $2 million in dead salary cap space. Makes sense for the club really at the end of the day.

Jason Peters, OT, Philadelphia Eagles

Eric Berry, S, Kansas City Chiefs

This offseason the Chiefs already used their franchise tag on Berry, and while everyone fully expected them to re-sign Berry to a long-term contract extension, the two sides have yet to meet eye to eye on a new deal. Currently the Chiefs are facing some serious financial issues so we doubt they will be able to resign him to the contract he deserves. If Berry were to hit free agency, then you can surely expect to see him as the highest-paid safety in NFL history.

Eric Berry, S, Kansas City Chiefs

Eric Berry, S, Kansas City Chiefs

DeSean Jackson, WR, Washington Redskins

With the current Redskins salary cap situation, it is extremely unlikely that Jackson will return to the Redskins for a fourth season. As the Redskins are already committed to $116 million for the salary cap of the 2017 season, and that’s still before they re-sign QB Kirk Cousins. Additionally the Redskins still have a couple more free agent decisions to make. At the end of the day, it might just be too much to re-sign Jackson.

DeSean Jackson, WR, Washington Redskins

Brandin Cooks, WR, New Orleans Saints

ESPN and Yahoo have pegged Cooks as a breakout candidate and the former Oregon State wide receiver certainly has the skill but his incredible potential has yet to surface. Recent social media reports have hinted that the 23-year-old is growing especially frustrated with his role in the Saints’ offense. Besides everyone knows that New Orleans can easily succeed without a real No. 1 wide receiver therefore it is increasingly likely that the team could explore trade options, especially if Cook is unhappy. The Saints do have Cooks locked up for two more years (including his fifth-year option), meaning his trade value will be at an all-time high this coming offseason.

Brandin-Cooks-WR-New-Orleans-Saints

Brandin Cooks, WR, New Orleans Saints

Jay Cutler, QB, Chicago Bears

Based on just physical talent, Jay Cutler is one of the top five quarterbacks in the NFL and no one can dispute that. But as most football fan knows, there’s a lot that goes into being a successful QB than just natural physical ability. We have watched Cutler flash glimpses of greatness but there have been too many instances where inconsistent play and dreadful displays of leadership follow. As the Bears continue to rebuild, they will most likely release Cutler this coming offseason and aquire a dead-money salary cap hit of $2 million, as most teams around the league will probably be unwilling to take on his current contract through a trade. Based on just his physical talent, Cutler will surely find a job with another franchise in 2017.

Jay Cutler, QB, Chicago Bears

Jay Cutler, QB, Chicago Bears

Alshon Jeffery, WR, Chicago Bears

Here’s the thing, everyone knows that the Bears are currently in rebuilding mode and everyone knows that Alshon Jeffery is going after a sizable multi-year contract extension this coming offseason. However when you look at his injury history and his recent suspension of four games after violating the NFL’s policy against performance-enhancing drugs, we can’t imagine that the Bears will offer him a long-term extension. Of course Chicago could opt to use their franchise tag on Jeffery for a second consecutive season but that would cost them a guaranteed $17,518,800 for one season.

Alshon Jeffery, WR, Chicago Bears

Alshon Jeffery, WR, Chicago Bears

Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, New England Patriots

If you know anything about the NFL then you know that New England head coach Bill Belichick is a genius when it comes to making well-timed personnel moves. While Belichick would most likely love to hold onto Garoppolo as Tom Brady’s backup, Garoppolo’s stock may never get any higher than what it currently is right now. Garoppolo has played exceptionally well during his two starts in place of Brady and still has one year left on his rookie contract. As there quite a few teams in the NFL who are desperately seeking to fill their QB positions, the Patriots could very well trade the young QB in exchange for multiple draft picks.

Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, New England Patriots

Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, New England Patriots

Adrian Peterson, RB, Minnesota Vikings

In case you didn’t know, in his 10 year career, Peterson has played as running back for the Minnesota Vikings, now we could dive into all of his achievements in his 10 year career but then we’d be here for ages so let’s just get to it. Peterson is currently coming off of a season-ending knee injury, will have a salary cap hit of $18 million in 2017 (which is the final year of his current contract), but most importantly, he may not fit into the Vikings’ offensive plans anymore. A report from the Minneapolis Star-Tribune came out saying that the Vikings’ offense will be operating out of the shotgun (which doesn’t suit Peterson’s running style) more frequently with QB Teddy Bridgewater. There’s no doubt that Peterson will forever be remembered as the best running back in Vikings history, but this could very well be the end for him in a purple jersey.

Adrian Peterson, RB, Minnesota Vikings

Adrian Peterson, RB, Minnesota Vikings

Jonathan Stewart, RB, Carolina Panthers

Since 2016, Stewart has been battling multiple nagging injuries and as a direct result, his production hasn’t been his usual. We are pretty sure that the Panthers plan to release Stewart this offseason, saving them $4.75 million in salary cap space.

Jonathan Stewart, RB, Carolina Panthers

Jonathan Stewart, RB, Carolina Panthers

Calais Campbell, DE, Arizona Cardinals

Campbell’s 2016 season was nothing short of perfection. With pass-rushers along for the ride, Chandler Jones and Markus Golden, Campbell certainly had more room to wreak havoc. Although he only managed to set a career high in terms of fumble recoveries, he still scooped up one of them and scored the first touchdown of his career from 53 yards out in Week 15 against the Saints. Let’s not forget that the 30-year-old’s resulting 2016 grade on Pro Football Focus was 90.4, ranking him second among interior defenders. However due to the resurgent campaign, Campbell’s upcoming price as an unrestricted free agent just might be too much for the Cardinals to keep him when there’s some tough decisions to be made elsewhere on the roster.

Calais-Campbell-DE-Arizona-Cardinals

Calais Campbell, DE, Arizona Cardinals

Josh Gordon, WR, Cleveland Browns

The second Josh Gordon checked into an inpatient rehab facility in late September, he basically ended his career with the Cleveland Browns. Of course the wide receiver still has to be fully reinstated by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell before he can officially return to action. If he gets cleared to play, then Gordon will surely receive a substantial amount of interest on the open market given his incredible talent.

Josh-Gordon-WR-Cleveland-Browns

Josh Gordon, WR, Cleveland Browns

Colin Kaepernick, QB, San Francisco 49ers

When it comes to QB Colin Kaepernick, he’s in an entirely different situation going forward as he’s expected to opt out of the final year of his contract. If he doesn’t, then it would seem highly likely the 49ers would release him to avoid being on the hook for his scheduled $14.9 million pay. Statistically speaking, Kaepernick had his best season since his first full season as a starter so the big question is whether a new coach and a new GM would want to keep the same quarterback?

Colin-Kaepernick-QB-San-Francisco-49ers

Colin Kaepernick, QB, San Francisco 49ers

Sam Bradford, QB, Minnesota Vikings

After the Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater suffered a serious knee injury, Minnesota were desperate so they traded a first-round pick and a conditional fourth-round pick to the Phillies in exchange for Bradford. However if Bridgewater proves to be on track to return in 2017, there is a high chance that Bradford will be playing elsewhere.

Sam Bradford, QB, Minnesota Vikings

Sam Bradford, QB, Minnesota Vikings

Sheldon Richardson, DE, New York Jets

Due to the ongoing salary cap issues and depth at the defensive end position, everyone is 120% positive that the Jets will trade Richardson next offseason. As they now have Muhammad Wilkerson and Leonard Wilkerson, this pretty much makes Richardson expendable, even though he’s crazy talented. Plus if the Jets moved Richardson with one year left on his rookie deal then they would almost surely get the highest possible value in return.

Sheldon-Richardson-DE-New-York-Jets

Sheldon Richardson, DE, New York Jets

Tony Romo, QB, Dallas Cowboys

It really shouldn’t come as a shock that Tony Romo ends up on our list, the epic story of Dak Prescott and Tony Romo has dominated the NFL world. Just in case you’ve been living under a rock, here’s the scoop, Prescott has led Dallas to an 11-1 record while playing in his first professional season following Romo’s back injury. Romo was once the face of the franchise and now finds himself in the role as a mere backup. The 36-year-old QB has a scheduled cap hit of $24.7 million in 2017, and we’re guessing the Cowboys are smart enough to know that having a backup player on the bench with that much of a scheduled salary cap isn’t a good use of their money. So it’s safe to say that Romo will be making a change soon.

Tony Romo, QB, Dallas Cowboys

Tony Romo, QB, Dallas Cowboys

Jamaal Charles, RB, Kansas City Chiefs

Charles re-injured his surgically repaired knee earlier this season, and unfortunately he might never play again. If he does somehow return to the field, it won’t be with the Chiefs. Kansas City is up against the salary cap and releasing the 29-year-old running back would free up a much needed $7 million.

Jamaal Charles, RB, Kansas City Chiefs

Jamaal Charles, RB, Kansas City Chiefs

Darrelle Revis, CB, New York Jets

We’re pretty sure that the only way Revis is back with the Jets in 2017 is if he moves from cornerback to safety and takes a massive pay-cut. If he should refuse, then the Jets will likely cut the future Hall of Famer and go ahead to save $9.33 million in salary cap space for the 2017 season.

Darrelle Revis, CB, New York Jets

Darrelle Revis, CB, New York Jets

Victor Cruz, WR, New York Giants

As the rookie wide receiver Sterling Shepard is making a name for himself, Cruz’s role in the offense is dwindling. On top of that, if you look at his injury history combined with his scheduled salary cap hit of $9.4 million in 2017, it becomes crystal clear that Cruz’s time in New York is coming to an end.

Victor Cruz, WR, New York Giants

Victor Cruz, WR, New York Giants

Jamie Collins, LB, Cleveland Browns

When Jamie Collins was traded by New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick to the Browns, the entire league was in shock. The 2015 second-team All-Pro has been non-committal when it comes to signing an extension with the Browns. Given their struggles this year, our only guess is that Collins will be looking to take his talents elsewhere when he becomes an unrestricted free agent.

Jamie Collins, LB, Cleveland Browns

Jamie Collins, LB, Cleveland Browns

Joe Haden, CB, Cleveland Browns

No one is surprised that the Browns are currently in rebuilding mode which is why we’re pretty sure that the Browns will trade Haden. He was also rumored to be on the move as the 2016 trade deadline approached, to a contender this offseason in an effort to continue stockpiling valuable draft choices.

Joe Haden, CB, Cleveland Browns

Joe Haden, CB, Cleveland Browns

Joe Thomas, OT, Cleveland Browns

Thomas really does deserve the chance to finish his Hall of Fame career playing for a team that honestly has a chance to contend for a Super Bowl title. Thomas has never publicly asked to be dealt, but there is no way he is enjoying what’s currently going on in Cleveland. The Browns should reward Thomas for his loyalty and consistency by sending him to a real contender.

Joe Thomas, OT, Cleveland Browns

Joe Thomas, OT, Cleveland Browns

Ryan Clady, OT, New York Jets

With Clady’s injury history, average (sometimes below average) performance, and rather hefty 2017 salary cap number, it’s a no brainer that the three-time All-Pro left tackle won’t be back with the Jets in 2017. However, Clady will likely find another job if he can prove that he’s healthy enough.

Ryan Clady, OT, New York Jets

Ryan Clady, OT, New York Jets

AJ McCarron, Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals are typically not wheelers and dealers plus McCarron has been playing well enough to make a positive impression. An agent even on to predict that McCarron would likely follow the same path Kirk Cousins followed in Washington, biding his time behind a drafted starter.

AJ McCarron, Cincinnati Bengals

AJ McCarron, Cincinnati Bengals

Kirk Cousins, QB, Washington

There’s a lot of talk surrounding Kirk Cousins as Washington haven’t outright said they want to keep him, they’ve been twiddling their thumbs, offering no straight answer. Cousins did make it clear that he was willing to play for a one-year franchise tag if that option was presented for a second straight season.

Kirk Cousins, QB, Washington

Kirk Cousins, QB, Washington

Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, New York Giants

Pierre-Paul’s 2016 season probably came to an end when he underwent surgery to repair a core muscle injury which he sustained during a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Of course there is a possibility that he could return for the playoffs, but in all likelihood, he’s most likely played his last game of football in a Giants uniform. However given how many teams are desperate for pass rush help, Pierre-Paul will easily land a contract out of the Giants’ price range during free agency.

Jason Pierre Paul, DE, New York Giants

Jason Pierre Paul, DE, New York Giants

Le’Veon Bell, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers

In 2017, there will absolutely be no shortage of interest in Bell even though most are saying that the running back will re-sign with the Steelers. Some believe that Pittsburgh will evetually realize just how valuable Bell is and sign him to a long-term deal but you just never know.

Le'Veon Bell, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers

Le’Veon Bell, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers

Mario Williams, DE, Miami Dolphins

We’ll just go ahead and say it but the Dolphins’ decision to add Williams last offseason hasn’t exactly worked out for them in the way they had hoped. The 31-year-old defensive end has registered a mere 1.5 sacks and 13 total tackles in 11 games, and often seems to look completely unfocused and uninterested in playing football. It’s almost a guarantee that the Dolphins willo cut Williams this offseason, saving them $8.5 million in salary cap space in 2017.

Mario Williams, DE, Miami Dolphins

Mario Williams, DE, Miami Dolphins

Stephon Gilmore, Buffalo Bills

Right now, Gilmore is one of the hottest names on the free agent market for cornerback. The Bills are currently in the middle of a power-shift to a new head coach, and there a high chance that Gilmore wants to test the waters elsewhere. Of course the new coaching staff might want to keep him, but the Bills are also candidates for a complete team rebuild, and loosening Gilmore’s salary would clear up the necessary cap space.

Stephon Gilmore, Buffalo Bills

Stephon Gilmore, Buffalo Bills

Kenny Britt, WR, Los Angeles Rams

With Britt being a free agent, it is likely that he will end up somewhere other than L.A. next season. He’s coming off of probably the best season of his career, and he needs to go to a real with a reliable quarterback in order to establish a truly incredible season. He may be an underrated name on the market but someone will get him for a reasonable price.

NFL: Preseason Los Angeles Rams At Denver Broncos

Kenny Britt, WR, Los Angeles Rams

Dre Kirkpatrick, Cincinnati Bengals

Kirkpatrick has a pretty good chance of leaving the Bengals, but then again, he might be resigned. It could really go either way. However considering he is one of the only reliable options on the market this year, Kirkpatrick is going to get an awesome contract no matter where he ends up. The best estimate is that Kirkpatrick will leave Cincinnati. While there may not be many reliable options at cornerback in free agency this year, plus he’ll command a high price tag but we’re sure he’ll be playing for a new team this season.

Dre Kirkpatrick, Cincinnati Bengals

Dre Kirkpatrick, Cincinnati Bengals

Darren McFadden, Dallas Cowboys

Given the naturally slim roster of free agent running backs this offseason, there’s a good chance McFAdden gets a call. He could even end up with a nice payday, which is pretty impressive for a player that everyone seemingly gave up on several years ago. He certainly won’t be back in Dallas, but there’s no doubt he’s done enough to remain in the league for a few more years.

Darren McFadden, Dallas Cowboys

Darren McFadden, Dallas Cowboys

Teddy Bridgewater, Minnesota Vikings

Teddy Bridgewater suffered a nasty season-ending injury in 2016 when he tore his ACL and dislocated his knee joint. Less than a week later, the Vikings traded for Sam Bradford and Bradford made sure to not let the Vikings down. Despite this, Bradford still had the best year of his career. Bradford’s career year and with Bridgewater coming off injury, this gives them the opportunity to trade the former Louisville QB.

Teddy Bridgewater, Minnesota Vikings

Teddy Bridgewater, Minnesota Vikings

Nick Foles, Kansas City Chiefs

Foles record has been a bit here and there and in 2015, Foles struggled immensely with the St. Louis Rams; however in fairness, Jeff Fisher was not letting up about keeping his 7-9 record in tact, so Foles had to save face. In 2016, Foles was picked up by the Kansas City Chiefs where he’s served as Alex Smith’s backup. His past success in Philadelphia will certainly line up new options.

Nick Foles, Kansas City Chiefs

Nick Foles, Kansas City Chiefs

Vincent Jackson, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Jackson’s NFL future is filled with a bit of uncertainty. Currently the 12-year veteran is on Tampa Bay’s Injured Reserve list with an ACL injury, plus he will be 34 when the 2017 season kicks off. His 2016 season is also the final year of the five-year, $55-million contract he signed with the Bucs back in 2012, and even though the Buccaneers will have cap space to bring him back, we believe he will be finishing his career with another franchise.

Vincent Jackson, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Vincent Jackson, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Trumaine Johnson, cornerback, Los Angeles Rams

When the Rams chose to let Janoris Jenkins off as a free agent, they then signed the 2012 draftee Johnson to the franchise tag. Now that his long-term deal is higher, the Rams will have convinced themselves they just cannot run a dominant defensive line without some serious new talent. If Johnson should hit the open market, the price tag for one of the best could get a bit dicey.

Trumaine Johnson, cornerback, Los Angeles Rams

Trumaine Johnson, cornerback, Los Angeles Rams

Andrew Luck, QB, Colts

While the odds of Luck leaving the Colts are slim, he should really find a way to get out of dodge. He’s a talented QB who can win those high-stakes games, no matter who is on his side. Luck has a pretty tough contract to break but someone with his skills deserves a shiny ring and he just won’t get that with the Colts.

Andrew Luck, QB, Colts

Andrew Luck, QB, Colts

Kawann Short, defensive lineman, Carolina Panthers

After the whole Josh Norman roller coaster this past offseason, no one really knows what the Panthers are going to do. GM Dave Gettleman knows how to pick ’em, that’s no secret. However, following last year’s defensive-line spending, Short should really be up for something special.

Kawann Short, Defensive Lineman, Carolina Panthers

Kawann Short, Defensive Lineman, Carolina Panthers

Jabaal Sheard, Defensive End, New England Patriots

No doubt about it, Sheard has done the Patriots proud. Now the general feeling is that Sheard, along with his agent Drew Rosenhaus, will be encouraged to look around the open market. If nothing comes of it, the Patriots would probably give him a similar deal like in 2015. Either way, a win-win.

Jabaal Sheard, Defensive End, New England Patriots

Jabaal Sheard, Defensive End, New England Patriots

Kevin Zeitler, Guard, Cincinnati Bengals

Everyone knows that the Bengals offensive line in 2016 was under par. Of course moving into 2017, the Bengals are gonna want to keep Zeitler so it’s likely they will try to re-sign him. But if the Bengals don’t make a great effort and pay him enough to re-sign, he could be playing elsewhere.

Kevin Zeitler, Guard, Cincinnati Bengals

Kevin Zeitler, Guard, Cincinnati Bengals

Torrey Smith, WR, San Francisco 49ers

Right now, Jackson is a veteran wide receiver who is in his prime, but is unfortunately stuck in a no-win situation with the new 49ers head coach, Chip Kelly. Smith’s best options are with maybe the Raiders, Packers, or really any team with an established QB. He’s a true talent and just needs to be playing in the right system to showcase his talent and take his team to the next level.

Torrey Smith, WR, San Francisco 49ers

Torrey Smith, WR, San Francisco 49ers

Dont’a Hightower, Linebacker, New England Patriots

If Hightower doesn’t go then he could just sign his Franchise tender and play out the 2017 season, and then could immediately become an Unrestricted Free Agent beginning of 2018. However, this would mean a $14,754,000 cap hit in 2017, and we’re not so sure the Patriots really want that.

Dont'a Hightower, Linebacker, New England Patriots

Dont’a Hightower, Linebacker, New England Patriots

Ryan Mathews, RB, Eagles

Mathews certainly isn’t getting younger and even a potential franchise QB like Carson Wentz, there just isn’t enough guaranteed success to make him want to stay longer. He’s better off with a win now type of team, he’s still a brilliant runner, who needs a team with a suitable backfield. And he’s going to get that with the Eagles.

Ryan Mathews, RB, Eagles

Ryan Mathews, RB, Eagles

T.J. Lang, Guard, Green Bay Packers

PFF have ranked T.J. Lang as the tenth-best free agent to sign in this year’s class and most believe that the Colts should snatch him up before it’s too late, seeing as how they have yet to resign anyone. If the Packers don’t re-sign him, then that would make him the best offensive linemen available this offseason!

T.J. Lang, Guard, Green Bay Packers

T.J. Lang, Guard, Green Bay Packers

Robert Griffin III, QB, Cleveland Browns

RGIII still has (a pinch maybe) of time left to prove that he is a quality starter but that’s now with the Cleveland Browns. He wont’ be able to reach his potential with a (sorry) clueless franchise like the Browns, he needs a team that is desperate for a stopgap QB, like the Cardinals of the Bears after Cutler leaves. He’s still got a shot if he goes now.

Robert Griffin III, QB, Cleveland Browns

Robert Griffin III, QB, Cleveland Browns

Brandon Marshall, WR, New York Jets

Everyone knows that Marshall is a true talent but he’s getting older now. As there i no certified franchise QB, most of team’s greatest talents on the move out, Marshall would do best to follow suit and go. While not many are probably willing to fork out a lump sun for a player who isn’t a sure thing, but who has tremendous talent, he might be stuck with the Jets for the time being.

Brandon Marshall, WR, New York Jets

Brandon Marshall, WR, New York Jets

Chandler Jones, Linebacker, Arizona Cardinals

While the 26-year-old outside linebacker is a free agent, the Cardinals general manager Steve Keim came out recently to say that they were try to keep Jones “one way or another.” But, this is the world of sports, anything could happen.

Chandler Jones, Linebacker, Arizona Cardinals

Chandler Jones, Linebacker, Arizona Cardinals

JC Tretter, Center, Green Bay Packers

Even though Tretter lost his starting job at center because of injury, he would make a perfect backup at any team. His versatility is top notch, Tretter is a force to be reckoned with whether he’s a center, a guard, or even a tackle, the guy can do it all. Green Bay would be crazy not to re-sign him but then again, he is a free agent who would make a great addition anywhere he goes.

JC Tretter, Center, Green Bay Packers

JC Tretter, Center, Green Bay Packers

A.J. Bouye, CB, Houston Texans

For Bouye, 2016 was his breakout season and with his physical and mental versatility, he could easily learn the various positions in the defensive backfield with any team he plays for.

A.J. Bouye, CB, Houston Texans

A.J. Bouye, CB, Houston Texans

Nick Perry, LB, Green Bay Packers

At just 26, Perry is well on his way to becoming the top edge rusher in this 2017 free-agent class. That means that the Packers would need to make a compelling and long-term offer in keep Perry. Then again, if another team approached him, his big season should really net him quite the lucrative multi-year deal.

MJS Packers06 27 Of Hoffman.jpg Packers06

MNick Perry, LB, Green Bay Packers

Dontari Poe, Kansas City Chiefs

Since 2013, Poe just hasn’t shown the same skill and class so that $9 million-plus a year he’s getting just seems a bit too much. PFF predicts that Poe is one of the free agents who will probably get overpaid but time will tell.

Dontari Poe, Kansas City Chiefs

Dontari Poe, Kansas City Chiefs

Jayrone Elliott, LB, Green Bay Packers

Granted during the 2016 season, Elliott registered only a few plays and limited production on defense so if the Packers did want him around, it would only be a minimal investment for them. And if the team choose to tender him, then it would probably be at the lowest level.

Jayrone Elliott, LB, Green Bay Packers

Jayrone Elliott, LB, Green Bay Packers

Ricky Wagner, OT, Baltimore Ravens

At just 27, Wagner is entering his prime, plus he is the Baltimore Ravens’ rising star and is a first-time free-agent. The Carolina Panthers or even the Denver Broncos would make a great new team for him to play for.

Ricky Wagner, OT, Baltimore Ravens

Ricky Wagner, OT, Baltimore Ravens

Russell Okung, OT, Denver Broncos

Currently the Broncos are deliberating whether they will Okung his $1 million bonus, which is due March 9, or if they will cut their left tackle. There is some specualation right now that he could be making a return to the Seattle Seahawks.

Denver Broncos Vs. Atlanta Falcons, NFL Week 5

Russell Okung, OT, Denver Broncos

Andrew Whitworth, OT, Cincinnati Bengals

Of course Andrew Whitworth is hoping to re-sign with the Bengals but if they don’t step up, he will start combing the market. The Bengals really can’t afford to lost the game’s best left tackles so let’s hope they arise to the occasion, there is talk that his age is a factor as there are no other linemen that old still playing, let alone playing like an elite tackle.

Andrew Whitworth, OT, Cincinnati Bengals

Andrew Whitworth, OT, Cincinnati Bengals

Julius Peppers, LB, Green Bay Packers

Peppers future seems to be going one of three ways, either he will resign with the Packers, will sign with a new club, or he will retire. Whatever he chooses, we’re pretty sure everyone will respect the future Hall of Famer’s decision as he really can’t go wrong.

Julius Peppers, LB, Green Bay Packers

Julius Peppers, LB, Green Bay Packers

The Patriots would be crazy not to re-sign Ryan but nothing is for certain yet. However, if he were to sign with the Green Bay Packers, it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.

Logan Ryan, CB, New England Patriots

Logan Ryan, CB, New England Patriots

Larry Warford, Guard, Detroit Lions

If Warford signed with the Los Angeles Rams, it would be a match made in heaven. Gurley and Warford would surely get along and he would offer the Rams a great physical style. Come March 9, he will become an unrestricted free agent as the Lions have yet to make a decision.

Larry Warford Detroit Lions

Larry Warford, Guard, Detroit Lions

Matt Kalil, OT, Minnesota Vikings

If the Vikings let Kalil go, it will surely disrupt the offensive line a great deal but as of now, nothing has been confirmed as to what his future holds. The key is offering him the right price and just letting him be the left tackle.

NFL: Green Bay Packers At Minnesota Vikings

Matt Kalil, OT, Minnesota Vikings

Datone Jones, defensive end/linebacker, Green Bay Packers

Jones is entering his final year of his contract with Green Bay and the team do like what his performance in the early stages of the 2016 season. However this doesn’t mean that the Packers will him to a new contract in 2017. And there quite a bit of speculation that the San Francisco 49ers want to sign Jones when his contract finishes.

Datone Jones, Defensive End Linebacker, Green Bay Packers

If Riley Reiff should leave in free agency then he could easily be replaced with Cam Robinson. However Reiff would make a brilliant addition to the Giants squad and as a left tackle no less.

Riley Reiff Detroit Lions

Bennie Logan, DT, Philadelphia Eagles

There’s a lot of talk regarding defensive tackle Bennie Logan leaving the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason, but the thing is, it won’t hurt moving forward if he does go. Because of his dominance on the field, money wise, it’ll be difficult for the Eagles to sign him, with just under $10 million in cap space, they have some tough calls to make.

Bennie Logan, DT, Philadelphia Eagles

Bennie Logan, DT, Philadelphia Eagles

Terrelle Pryor, WR, Cleveland Browns

The chatter surrounding Pryor right now is that the Browns won’t be placing the franchise tag on the wide receiver this offseason. Now both parties have shown mutual interest in reaching a deal done, so it could just be a matter of time.

Terrelle Pryor, WR, Cleveland Browns

Terrelle Pryor, WR, Cleveland Browns

Eddie Lacy, RB, Green Bay Packers

Here’s the thing, so far both sides have expressed interest in returning Lacy to the Oakland Raiders, and if he did come back with his weight and injury history, then he would have to take a contract sympathetic to his recent play and history. We certainly believe that if he went back to the Raiders, he’d not only be with a Top-5 offensive line but he would also have elite quarterback Derek Carr, and would perfectly complement Richard and Washington.

Eddie Lacy, RB, Green Bay Packers

Eddie Lacy, RB, Green Bay Packers

Tyrod Taylor, QB, Buffalo Bills

The buzz surrounding Tyrod Taylor is insane, right now the Buffalo Bills have just until March 11 to decide if they want to pick up the option on Tyrod Taylor’s contract. Both parties have remained hush-hush about what will happen so it’s just a waiting game at the moment.
