Tom Scholz: Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from MIT

If you asked Scholz, he’d rather be working in a lab than touring the world with his guitar. His academic history is incredibly remarkable. Growing up, he was an excellent student and an equally talented basketball player from the Ohio suburb of Ottawa Hills. Scholz studied classical piano and showed a strong interest in tinkering, including building model airplanes and designing go-carts. These unique interests led him to pursue both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in mechanical engineering from MIT.

It’s quite rare for a professional baseball player to have a college degree, so for Mike Marshall to have a PhD in Kinesiology is definitely something he should be bragging about.
